Nokia 6555 Review
Classy, Stylish, Clever too - So is the Nokia 6555 their best clamshell phone yet ?
Nokia have a very hit & miss track record with their clamshell phones. Some have been destined for greatness & longevity such as the 6131, 6170. Others were complete flops and were destined for the nearest bin - 6260 & 7270 spring to mind.
The Nokia 6555 will be available in 4 different colours black, red, silver and sand gold. With a very slim profile at just 100 x 44 x 20mm and weighing just 97 grams, it must be one of the lightest 3g handsets on the market. A large analogue clock on the outer display is a nice touch we think that sets the overall trend of the handset, smart, stylish and yet understated. A nice chrome strip seperates the outer colour with the high gloss black inset.
Featurewise, the Nokia 6555 isn't going to set the world alight, but what it does have are the important ingredients that you use everyday such as 3G, quad band, Bluetooth, expandable memory, EDGE, 16 million colour display, 1.3 megapixel camera & video.
The keypad design is good as is the Nokia menu system which is intuitive and very easy to navigate. Battery life is pretty good too at 6 hours talk time and 260 hours on standby - should be more than enough for most.
The downside
The 1.3 megapixel camera is the most obvious point. You kind of expect at least a 2 megapixel on any camera phone these days but it's not the end of the world. The other notable thing to mention is the huge array of items that come included....not ! You get a stereo headset and that's it. Having said that, items like memory cards, data cables etc. are very cheap anyway these days so it's hardly going to cost you a fortune to get the "missing" bits & the 6555 isn't going to be overly expensive anyway - so it's swings & roundabouts on that one.
The Nokia 6555 is currently available on O2 & SIM Free and you can view the full technical specifications here - Nokia 6555
