With its rounded corners, slightly tapered battery cover, minimal array of buttons and weighing just 140 grams the Huawei Honour delivers an elegant look without looking too flashy or cluttered. This unassuming mid-range device is no slouch either because beneath its very responsive 4" touchscreen lurks a single-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T S2 Snapdragon and Adreno 205 GPU (the same chipset found in the Sony Xperia arc S and the Nokia Lumia 800), 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. Also, the Huawei Honur has an 8 MegaPixel rear camera that is capable of taking 720p HD video and is enhanced by HDR. This feature is especially useful when taking photos in dark areas and as much backlight as possible is needed to compensate.
The Huawei Honor comes with a hugely impressive 1,930mAh battery that can last around 650 hours on standby or offer an estimated talk time of 530 minutes. To give you a better idea of this amazing capacity, the battery holds enough power for seven to eight hours of intense use, such as playing videos, listening to music via the LOUD loud speaker or gaming. When using the U8860r moderately you can expect to obtain roughly one and a half days of usage if you're texting, making a few calls, frequently checking emails and browsing the internet.
The Huawei Honor runs its own customisable launcher on top of Android 2.3.6 called Huawei HAP 5.1. There are shortcuts to the camera, messaging and phone applications directly from the lockscreen and the applications menu offers the standard 4x4 grid of icons, all of which can be rearranged as desired and applications can even be placed neatly away into folders or uninstalled directly from the app menu, without the need to use 'Task Manager.' There are also six pre-loaded applications that may be of benefit to users: 'Streams', 'Cloud+ Drive', 'All Backup', 'Security Guard', 'TouchPal Input' and 'Traffic Manager'.
