THIS HANDSET IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Pioneers of the telecommunications industry Huawei are commited to bringing high quality devices to the market at an affordable price. Similar to Huawei's other recent device the Ideos, the U8800 has an impressive feature set considering the price point. As is fast becoming the standard for Android devices, Huawei have included version 2.2 Froyo with the U8800. Featuring no customised skin as seen from other manufacturers keeps the costs down and allows for total personalisation of the operating system environment to suit your needs.

You can expect high quality images from the 5 megapixel camera; sporting autofocus and LED flash. Not just content with standard camera features Huawei have enabled 720p HD recording and playback as well. Also included is a front facing VGA camera for video calling. 4GB of internal memory capacity is included out of the box for storing your snaps and this can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

The 3.8 inch TFT touchscreen may not rival those seen on other devices such as the stunning Galaxy S i9000 however the 256k colour screen is more than acceptable for navigating and playback and a great way to keep the cost down on this mid-range smartphone. Full multi-touch control is also supported due to the Froyo operating system.

Keep in touch and in control with onboard GPS, messaging and email synchronisation and dual band 3G support. The U8800 also boasts HSPA connectivity so you can enjoy ultra fast up and downlink speeds as your service providers adopt the technology. Browse the web with full Flash support and view your work with the built in document viewer.
