With more than a passing resemblance to the full 3G Nokia 6680 the 6681 is aimed at the 2.5G market. Why ? Well not everybody wants or uses 3G services such as video calling and thus the 6681 concentrates more on the EDGE data aspects instead - this way Nokia cover both segments of the markets & users have a choice as to which they prefer.

The 6681 features the same 'sliding' 1.3 megapixel camera as on the 6680 - thus you don't have to worry about getting it scratched as it remains covered when not in use.

Symbian series 60 operating system is used on the 6681 thus email client that can support multiple document types, a web browser, MP3 stereo music player, video capture and PC synchronisation via Bluetooth or USB cable are all featured. Other features include bluetooth, tri-band and expandable memory via the MMC card slot.
