The Nokia 6212 Classic is not quite as "normal" a mobile phone as it's exterior suggests.
Sure, it's got the usual set of features 3G, bluetooth, FM radio etc but the 6212 has another neat trick up it's sleeve that others have yet to have !
NFC is what it has & now you'll be none the wiser either ! What NFC stands for is "Near Field Communication". This allows 2 devices to communicate with one another within a very short distance. Now, this may sound at first like Bluetooth but a bit more rubbish, as Bluetooth works up to 10 metres away, so why would anyone bother ?
Well, the big difference in this technology is that you basically swipe your NFC device near the other NFC device and the information exchange can occur immediately without the need of any "pairing". The uses for this are potentially endless & many industries are looking at implementing this technology. O2 are looking at introducing it for the London Underground Oyster systems whereby you can just swipe your phone to pay. Many National banks are also looking into this too as it allows such an easy way of swapping information.
